Exit Process Out of Colombia
It is important to understand that everyone born in Colombia or to a Colombian surrogate is considered a Colombian citizen.
Under Colombian law, all Colombian citizens — irrespective of dual citizenship — must produce/present a Colombian passport to enter and exit out of Colombia.
No arrival tax is charged upon entry into Colombia. However, airline passengers must pay an exit tax of about $56 at the airport. Some airlines comprise a portion of this tax on the cost of your air ticket. So intended parents may check with their airline to find out how much tax to pay at the airport.
Colombian residents travelling with non-Colombian passports are often barred from leaving the country until they get a Colombian passport.
The exit process may vary significantly depending on your nationality and situation so please feel free to contact us so we can provide a further explanation for the exit process
